Best Buy wants to help you improve your home, and in our technologically advanced times, that means making your home smarter. Thanks to a new partnership with Vivint Smart Home, Best Buy will begin offering smart home consultations to customers this summer, allowing eager homeowners across the country to chat with a smart home expert, design a comprehensive system, and take advantage of professional installation and monitoring, often within 24 hours.

Given the burgeoning number of smart home devices available, finding the best solution for your unique home might seem like a daunting task. But Best Buy and Vivint hope to make the process a bit less intimidating with in-store experts, who can guide you through smart locks, lights, cameras, and thermostats. The partnership will also offer customers optional service plans, which can include such features as 24/7 professional monitoring with emergency response, always-on cellular connection, 30-day video storage, online and phone support, in-home service, and equipment protection.

“Best Buy is all about helping customers pursue their passions and enrich their lives with the help of technology,” said Asheesh Saksena, chief strategic growth officer at Best Buy. “To deliver on that promise, we work with industry leading partners to curate the best products, services, and solutions that address the everyday needs of our customers. Our partnership with Vivint is a perfect example of that strategy.”

Best Buy has certainly seen plenty of demand for smart home solutions, as the company sold more than 55 million connected devices last year. And thanks to Vivint’s expertise in the connected space (with products in more than one million customers’ homes), this certainly seems like a partnership that will make your home safer and more convenient. Vivint has also partnered with companies like Sprint to sell Vivint products in brick and mortar stores.

“At Vivint, our vision from the beginning has been to deliver smart homes for the mass market,” said Alex Dunn, president of Vivint Smart Home. “Together with Best Buy, we are further encouraging adoption by providing customers with a comprehensive smart home offering and a personalized retail experience.”
